Cinnamon Matcha Latte
Ingredients
- 4 g Chaé ceremonial matcha powder
- 50 ml warm water (not boiling — around 70–75°C)
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp honey
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of cinnamon
- 130 ml milk of choice (oat, almond, or whole)
- 20 ml vanilla milk
Instructions
1. Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl or cup to remove any clumps.
2. Add warm water, brown sugar, honey, salt, and cinnamon to the matcha.
3. Whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion until the matcha is fully dissolved and slightly frothy — about 30–60 seconds.
4. Steam or warm your milk of choice and vanilla milk together until hot and frothy (or use cold milk for an iced version).
5. Pour the matcha mixture over the milk and give it a gentle stir.
6. Finish with a light dusting of cinnamon on top.
Tips & Variations
- 🧊 Iced version: Use cold milk and pour everything over ice for a summer twist.
- 🥛 Best milk pairing: Oat milk adds a natural sweetness that complements the cinnamon beautifully.
- 🍯 Adjust sweetness: Add more honey for a sweeter latte or skip the brown sugar for a lighter version.
- Use a bamboo whisk (chasen) for the smoothest, most authentic matcha texture.
